2024 WC qualifying draw tomorrow. We will most likely end up in a four team group and games will be played form September to November 2025. That is a very short window. This nations League thing with quarter finals, relegation /promotion etc has really taken over. We might not know our exact group opponents tomorrow as I understand it, it will be dependent on how Nations League pans out next spring.
I miss the old days -- for example the Euros finishes in the summer of 2024. Qualifying for WC 2026 begins in earnest in September 2024. Games right through 2025 international windows, finishing up probably in October 2025. Now, the qualifying will be over before we know it! We probably won't be qualifying anyway I guess!
