Fianna Fail leader pays tribute to corrupt politician.

The Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin has paid tribute to Denis Foley, former FF TD and Senator. Here's what he said:

"A tireless champion for the interests of his Kerry constituents. I was saddened to learn of the death of former colleague Denis Foley. Denis represented the people of Kerry North as a Fianna Fáil representative for almost twenty years with diligence and great commitment.
"During this time he worked with colleagues from all parties to advance the interests and issues of his community," said the Fianna Fáil leader.

But, hang on... here's some more facts about the same Mr. Foley:

"Following revelations that he had held an offshore account with Ansbacher Bank to avoid tax, he resigned from Fianna Fáil on 9 February 2000, becoming an independent TD. He had previously resigned from the Dáil Public Accounts Committee (on which he had been involved in the questioning of an official of the Ansbacher bank in which he held an undeclared deposit) and in May 2000 he became the first TD to receive a penalty for breaching the Ethics in Public Office Act 1995 when he was suspended from the Dáil for 14 days."

So is it good enough that after everything that has happened in Ireland in the last 20 years or so that the current leader of Fianna Fail pays tribute to a TD that was forced to resign Fianna Fail due to the fact that he was avoiding tax?

To be fair to Foley he was only an amateur at cheating in that particular party because he got caught...the big boys got clean away!!!

And they are still denying that they were ever a member of .......

Give it a break Westie and disappear into the disappeared thread!!

I am no IRA apologist but you ruin every thread once Muintir says anything, we could be talking about monkeys going to Mars and if Muintir said anything you would relate it back to Sinn Fein and the RA.
