Evan Ferguson

Brighton were looking for 100 million for him when he was flying could have got 75 no problem…Same story with Baleba and his performances have dropped a level to last year..nobody will pay more than 60 for Baleba if that….

Maybe its irish bias but i Thought the management of him was as bad as i have seen. From a club asset POV How you can let a player go from being worth over 80 m to not being good enough to make your bench when he is fit in space of 6 months

Unlikely they will let Zirkzee go and bring in Ferguson, Zirkzee isn’t great but he’s a safer bet than big Ev currently.

Ferguson’s next move is critical for him, he’s still young so wouldn’t be surprised if he turns it around at a bottom half PL team
Would a team in 10th position be classed as bottom half?

He needs to keep plugging away, take the setbacks on the chin and keep going to places, anywhere, to get game time. He's still only barely 21.

If it doesn't come good for him in the next couple of years then it wasn't meant to be.
He'll still be a multii-millionaire at the end of it anyway.

I can see him filling the John Hartson role at Celtic or ending up at somewhere like burnley's bench

at least at Celtic he's guaranteed to finish his career with some medals

He's young enough that he can go either way still. I could see him being a really good Premier League quality player like a Chris Woods type, he might go beyond that or he may fall well short. It's too early to say and like every player he needs a bit of luck and for the right club for him to land in his lap.

Hope it does happen as there is no questioning his raw talent.

He's still only a kid and has loads about him. A lot of what we're reading about him now we read it about Parrott when he was 21 after a few bad loans.
Parrott was operating at a much lower level too on various loans tbf. Evan might need to follow Troy's lead though to guarantee himself game time...even though I think Ferguson has a bit more about him.

To be fair he clearly has goals in him and he played a big part in making sure Ireland has a chance of the World Cup with goals v Hungary and Armenia. He even got us back into the away game against Armenia too.

We've been crying out for a striker who can find the net regularly since Robbie Keane retired and we now look to have two. Parrott seems to offer more from general play at the moment but it's a nice situation to be in.
