A buddy of mine is a big Eurovision head. He has been to the last 6 or 7 editions of it live becuase it's basically craic station zebra for Gay fellas.

He said last year was fuckin miserable with all the politicisation over Israeli participation.

His point was that basically none of the Olympic athletes has to justify their own situation in relation to Israel nor were there calls to boycott the contest as a result.

He was fairly angry about it and didn't go at all this year. I do think he has a point.

Would he have been happy for Russia to take part I wonder ?

Tbh I only watch it for the lols, and the biggest one from me came when the public vote came in for Israel.

Thought Switzerland were shafted with the ol' zero points, and the French were shaking their heads in disbelief at theirs

It wasn't the fact that Israel were there. It was the fact that every media outlet and press conference centered on the fact that they were there was his issue.

All he wanted to do was wear some spark clothes and have some craic
