Make sure they pay you....I've just switched back to Electric Ireland from Bord Gais, and in doing the final totals, they discovered they haven't paid me for the electricity the panels have generated. On top of that, there was an issue with the battery so anything generated was going straight back rather than the overflow.

Do they just issue you a credit on your account/bill in general for the power you send to the grid?

TBH, I don't know, as they never paid me, however my guess would be that it would appear separately on the bill, as the money they pay per unit is way less than the amount they charge me for "their" units.

Hopes energy bills will be cut this year as wholesale gas prices fall

Consumers could be in line for a cut in energy prices this year due a fall in wholesale gas costs.

Daragh O'Brien is the minister for Energy. As far as I can see he has done absolutely nothing to demand energy companies pass on savings to consumers.

As useful in his current portfolio as he was in housing.

Lads, the ESB alone made €706 million in net profit last year. The Gov own 97.1% of the ESB and got paid €189mil in dividends directly back into the coffers.

This doesnt include vat, pso, cgt, payee and all the rest on the tax they made.

What ye have to realise is, is that we are products, revenue generating products.

Now get back to work ye peasants.
