This is crazy, the crime does not fit the punishment. Of course it’s ridiculously stupid by Southampton to spy on opposition training when they can use a sample set of 46 league games to gather enough info on opposition, like everyone else but the crime doesn’t fit the punishment and the precedent for such a rule break, even relatively recently was a fine.
I know they want to maybe make an example of Southampton but they’ve actually opened a massive can of worms for themselves with this.
Hull definitely have the biggest case to be promoted if the ruling stands, which is seems to be. Why should Middlesbrough get put through? Wrexham will also have a case because if Southampton are thrown out of the play-offs, that should bring them in. Millwall finished higher than Middlesbrough so would also have a small case.
