US isn't in amazing shape, but it's the US that's really exposed, and by extension, Ireland should really care. Especially when a small handful of US companies make up such a massive chunk of the tax take, and employ so many of the Irish workforce.

Microsoft reported $24bn of revenue from OpenAI, over 70% of their 2026 AI revenues.
They spent $41bn on capital expenditure last quarter, aiming at $175bn overall this year.
Revenues obviously need to grow a little to be profitable in AI.
If markets take fright, don't think MS will be reporting any profits in Ireland for a while.
