Eamon Dunphy

+1 on Dunphy and Brady. Pure entertainment. Giles offers nothing imo!

Agree with that. I have been listening to Giles so long that I can predict what he is going to say. I would love to see some younger bucks like Kenny Cunningham or Richie Sadlier come onto panel. I reckon they would shake things up a little (remember Sadlier taking on Brady during Euros). I would leave Brady + Dunphy there. Don't always agree with Brady but his views are always interesting whilst Dunphy is worth putting up with because he is capable of saying anything. Who else would call the journalist Ron Liddle a thug live on air before going on to explain that he had "left his wife for a young one".
By the way they both turned up on Liveline the next day and Dunphy apologised to Liddle!

Kenny Cunningham just wiggles his eyebrows and says 'at this present moment in time' every second sentence.

Sadlier is shite wannabe version of Dunphy.

At least Dunphy has some entertainment value.

Sadlier is a no mark mouthpiece

No thanks

Sadlier is not that bad at all. Does tend to rub a lot of people up the wrong way though.

On purpose. He's no fool. Career cut short and needs to capitalise on the limited time he's had in pro soccer. He's only too aware that the likes of Jamie Makesmeknapp is bland and generic. No point turning up and giving straight forward analysis as there are plenty of others with more high profile and sustained careers that can do that. So throw in a kind of smarmy, arrogance along with the knowledge you have and hope the formula works. Dunphy won't last forever.

Was on Radio One last week talking about how his career ended early and the depression that followed. Was very articualte in explaining what he went through and how a lot of ex pro's end up in severe financial difficulty, alcoholics etc because after football (which is a very short career and not all are earning mega bucks) they have no transferable skills and no idea what to do with the rest of thier life.

He spoke brilliantly about it all and how the PFA need to do more for thse guys

As for football analysis, I find him quite good too. Matched up well with Brady during the euro's who has been doing this a lot longer than him.
