E Scooters

Lots of people think that 15/20/30 kmh is slow because it can feel that way in a car but if your unprotected body hits something solid like the ground or a wall or a vehicle at that speed it can do catastrophic damage especially to the smaller underdeveloped body of a child or teen.

I ride a motorcycle and I often pass fellas on these things in 50/60 kmh zones and I'm barely going faster than them when I'm at the speed limit.
I have a helmet, leathers, padding, special boots, gloves etc.. on.
Meanwhile these guys are often in t-shirts and shorts.
Its nuts.

These aren't very smart parents, having not very smart kids... so brain injuries or no, they were hardly going to grow up to be Nobel Prize winners anyway.

If only parents could have had some agency to prevent kids getting on escooters....hmm...

2 kids just whizzed past on an scooter, wearing no protection whatsoever, on a road that has a constant flow of traffic, I'd hate to be one of the passers by present when they crash and to have to witness the results.

They were between 12-15 years old I'd say.
Was only chatting to Boppy Óg’s mother about this last week. I’m dreading when he’s of the age where he’ll want one.

Because there’s no feckin way we’re letting him have one.
