Just came across this ;

My sincere thanks to the Gardaí from Pearse Street and Bridewell for apprehending the man that attacked me last night as I carried out my work. By all accounts they had their work cut out for them. Thanks too to my colleagues, my family and friends who instantly rallied around me. I’m home from the hospital and recuperating now and hoping that the perpetrator faces real justice.
To attack an emergency ambulance en route to hospital under blue lights and siren and then attack the crew is truly shocking. Law and order in this country has deteriorated significantly in a very short period.
