Dublin... Is a fucking shithole

After my ordeal last night I took a half day from work and have had a lovely afternoon in Ryan's, my favorite bar in Dublin, possibly in the country

Controversial now like, but Hawksmoor was one of my favourite places in London.

Their lunch menu is class, if you're going down for pints, etc.

The steak is obviously great, as you'd expect, and I can cook great steak at home, for a fraction of the price.

But the sides, and sauces, were always absolutely class.

I was in Dublin for work, I could have dropped in for a pint! I have escaped now though, thank fuck.

I would usually do it on the BBQ but it's the same theory, use a griddle if you are using a hob. Get the griddle smoking hot, with a bit of oil and butter in there. Get a good thick steak and rub a film of oil, a good grind of salt and pepper both sides just before it goes on the heat

2-3 minutes either side depending on the thickness, turn it once. Keep the BBQ lid closed to keep the heat in

Whip ithe steak off and sit on a wooden board, cover with tin foil and leave for around 5 mins

Good to go
