What an absolutley awful story. Poor lad was just coming up to his 18th birthday.

CorkBeo decided to post the gruesome details but I'm not giving them the clicks on here.

The teenager was described as ‘kind’ and ‘very intelligent’, and was due to celebrate his 18th birthday next month.

Very hard to know what to do now, new breed of youngsters a minority but becoming more prevalent, all male bravado and think of the likes of mcgregor as hero's, carrying knives and punch kick to cause real harm.
Zero tolerance is needed for these c##ts , pick em up and if found in possession of a knife , court within 48 hous and if found guilty jail .
Open up spike Island again and fuck the lot of them in there .

Who is going to pick em up though?

Gardai have insufficient numbers overall and seem to have way too many in desk-jobs because there's very few out on the beat - last two I saw on foot in town was about a week ago outside the old Hoor's Motel. There was a guy in at the side of the footpath with a sleeping bag, and the two Gardai were talking to him telling him he'd have to move on. The guy was quite well spoken and sober and very respectful to the gardai. Seemed to be bothering nobody but two Gardai were there to ensure he didn't hang around.

Meanwhile within a few hundred yards people were probably being assaulted or property taken/vandalised.

Used to work in Dublin staying in a hotel at the time, said to the security guy, might go out for a run, nah he said give it a skip, later on and not wanting to drink in a hotel bar I said to the same guy might walk up to the local for a pint, without even looking at me he replied "Jeasus boy have you a death wish or something" needless to say I stayed in the hotel bar.

Glad Im finished there.
