Drinking water from the bathroom tap can lead to nasty tummy upsets.
This water generally comes from an attic storage tank which can be the graveyard for mice, rats, pigeons etc if the tank isn’t covered properly.
This tank can also harbour legionella bacteria If the temperature of the stored water stagnates and goes above 20deg Celsius.

Brother drank out of a tap in a guest house in the 80’s. Dead pigeon in it nearly killed him and the four lads from work who were in the same guest house.

If its a downstairs jacks there's a good chance it's mains water but up stairs? Nah that comes from a tank in the attic which usually has no lid on it

We used to be playing ball for hours on end out on the road when we were youngfellas. Every now and then we'd take a quick break and you'd run in stick your head under the tap in the bathroom. Never did any harm to any of us.

I have a well but I feed all the cold water taps from there. Why would you drink the water that feeds your bogs, that is just barbaric
