On the dog thing, this thread has actually turned out to be bizzarely useful which is unlike this place! I know the sum total of nothing about dogs but for anyone getting a puppy they could do worse than these guys for the online tutorials, they are charged though

A buddy put me onto it, the speed she learned to walk on the lead at my heel was brilliant. They dont seem to do the stop the dog barking course though! I'm sure anyone familiar with training dogs will say its nothing you wouldn't already do but if you have no idea what you're doing it straight forward and simple to follow
