Reason I ask is we hear so much about certain nationalities being killed, while we are told others die. Some governments are described as governments and others as regimes. Some are described as democracies but having no responsibilities for the excesses of the governments they elect.
I heard on the radio only this morning about a country that had foreign troops entering not being described as an invasion and being in retaliation for something that kicked off less than a fortnight ago, despite bombings and killings having happened continuously for months throughout a "ceasefire" with hundreds killed.

I think it would be nice that if Country A bombed Country B that the victims in Country B would be described by our media in similar terms to those in Country A. And if your media sources are using (not so)subtle differences when they describe what's happening, perhaps you should be a little more critically analytical of what's going on and why. Just a suggestion like.

Any time you have a media that's obliged to the government for its funding, you can forget about independent reporting.

Remember the grovelling apology RTE made to Brian Cowen after they ran the piece on the spoof paintings of him that were hung in art galleries in Dublin?

He threw a tantrum and the piece got memory-holed.

They should never have run the story in the first place. Report on his policies and lambaste him for those but showing a report of a painting of a had naked Cowen going for a dump was disgraceful.

Imagine if that had been done to a female politician.

It was a legitimate public interest story.

We're way too reverent of our shitty politicians. The highest-ranking politician in the country shouldn't be a crybaby. He could have had a laugh about it and moved on, but no...

It's like when a reporter asks Mehole Martin a difficult question and he makes that constipated, disappointed face. They need to get over themselves.
