I remember years back a fella was going to a fancy dress party in Tralee. He borrowed a Sergeant's uniform. Anyway he got mangled drunk left the party and went bonkers in the town. Demanding to be left into a niteclub free of charge and demanding drinks threatening to arrest people. He got done for it, I don't know what happened the sergeant though. Gas altogether, imagine the scenes

Yeah, it’s a crime to impersonate a Garda, even in fancy dress. That Seargant would’ve had his knuckles well and truly rapped!

Tried on one of the new Garda baseball hats recently but he wouldn’t allow me out and about in it - much less go on the rantan
