D'Echo Norries v Sorries hurling Competition

Started today with Wayne SHerlock v Paddy Barry. I started reading down to see if Paddy Barry played in the backs for Seandún or Vincents but no he was always a goalkeeper.
Why pit Goaly v back. Why not goaly. Ger Cunningham v Paddy Barry. Looking at the list there are glaring omissions. Its from 1972 onwards. The most glaring omission is Patsy harte from glen rovers, one of the finest stalwarts of the club game.
THe only interesting one is they have Jesus v baby jesus in the first round...

I thought the same about Paddy Barry against Sherlock when I read it first but the point is to get to the best hurler not the best in each position. So a goalkeeper would have to go up against an outfield player eventually if they get through.
If they had put Barry V Cunningham, the winner would be up against an out field player in the next round if you follow me.

Not sure if anyone is doing this but 6 down so far. On 1,5 & 6 agree with you. On 2 & 4 unsurprisingly went for the 2 Glen lads for different reasons, Denis Coughlan is one of the greats full stop. While I know I should have voted for FR on achievements GC is a real iconic figure out the Glen and about as sound a guy as you'll meet so my heart overruled my head there.
Similarly went for Christy Coughlan over Shane O'Neill on good memories but also the fact that that Piarsaighs full-back line were nasty (in a good way).
