De Irish Times 'all men are bastards' thread

Speaking of which, this has me in tears.

"Well God blasht yuh"

He's v good tbf.

But is it just me, or is all of this simply… sharing your problems with your spouse? Is this not entirely normal, acceptable behaviour within a healthy and positive relationship? A sign of maturity, compassion and being emotionally evolved? Where’s the issue, exactly? Is providing emotional support to someone you care for now part of the already burdensome ‘mental load’? And surely it’s something that cuts both ways? Is this not an entirely reciprocal thing? It is in this household, where I have absolutely no hesitation in bringing home a decent whinge/problem/dilemma to my husband and completely spraying him with it.

So what happens when women bring home a problem to be shared and discussed with a male partner? Are these guys ‘womankeeping’?

It doesn't work that way.

My ex stated that I was her human punching bag.

I did the deeds and saw her through 6 years towards a Masters in Social Science.

Mortgages on two houses.. Emigrated post 2011 melt down. Bills bills bills.

It was never a good time to have kids according to her time line.

Divorce. She affidavited that I was the reason we didn't have kids.

I had enough and gave everything up.

Fuck that for a game of soldiers.

Males.. Be very fucking careful.

You still got it ✋

Ive not been in Tralee in years. Thought it was dog rough alright the last time I was there.

All the people I know in Killarney do nothing but give out about foreigners ruining the town.

I suppose tourism has taken a battering and Liebherr aside that place is reliant on it.

Liebherr.... Christ on rubber crutches.

I interviewed with them. Three times... Technical and so forth from all comers.

They were happy. About to talk contract terms when Phyliss from HR joined the room.

She sat herself down in front of me.

OK.

So.. 'What do you know about our inclusivity values' ?

Emm... What?

'How do you manage people'?

I treat people as I would like to be treated myself.

'And what of DEI'?

Have you spelled that wrong?

The tech people were face palming.

I gave up, Phyliss had heard enough, left the room and all 5 techies apologised profusely.

Ya. No job.

Fuck Hugh Phyliss.

Probably gave the job to her nephew.

Meant to be a great bunch to work for. Once you get the foot in the door, you've a gig for life.
