Cyclists

Nonsense.

The system in place there worked perfectly in the 30 odd years Ive frequented the place.

Considering how many objections you put in around your place John you'd think you might have a bit more understanding toward a business owner trying to stop their trade being damaged by loopy planning.
'Worked perfectly'... despite all the near-misses and accidents outside the place.
There wasn't even a footpath for pedestrians FFS!

Shows your priorities. Fuck everyone else as long as you can scoot about the place in your banger.

'John Grace, who owns a fast food outlet on Cook Street, John Grace’s Fried Chicken, has asked An Bord Pleanála to refuse planning permission for the redevelopment of the former hotel site claiming it would deteriorate the local streetscape.

Mr Grace said the closure of the hotel, whose entrance was on Cook Street, had resulted in a considerable loss of footfall and general activity on Cook Street – a loss he claimed which would be made permanent by approving RESAM’s plans'.

Is this the same site that is being refurbished and Easons are moving to?
Why post an article that is 4 years old?

Not sure what that has to do with anything but yea, whatever.

yeah there is some confusion but the actually law is that it is not compulsory to cycle on a cycle lane( though its usually a bloody good idea like)

Cyclists don’t have to use cycle lanes new legislation confirms

Genuine question here - if cyclists don't have to use those separate cycle lanes, then why on earth are the roadways being narrowed to make room for cycle lanes???

Surely by narrowing the lanes for motorists it gives them less room to safely pass cyclists? Why on earth would there be a drive (;)) to create separate cycle lanes when it's actually leading to endangering cyclists (who don't use the cycle lanes)?

Really, what's across the road?
Surely an advocate of safe cycling isn't proposing parking in a hard shoulder? As you know this is normally for use by pedestrians and cyclists.
Am, there's now a path that peds and cyclists can use so ya can park in the hard shoulder like what's been happening all along, I'm sure you're aware entitled motorists have been doing this way before the new path went in anyway. God forbid you've to walk abit 😂

So you are advocating motorists park on the hard shoulder, fair enough.

Some cycle lanes are shit and take longer to get to your destination rather than using the road. Lanes do encourage more people to cycle I guess but the network is not good enough yet and would hardly encourage people out of their cars if it takes longer than it should.

I love all the bravo speak here amongst the wanker type cyclist defenders.

When the weather gets bad, there won't be one of them up on a bike.

Seems like a fair weather topic really.
