What i can never understand is this, lads going around on bikes without mud guards on them.
I mean on Irish roads, that are wet a lot of the time.
Imagine the constant flick of water from the back wheel of bike up onto a fellas back, surely he would be drenched or is that lycra shite like sub aqua or what ?

That 1kph is massive! Taking the speeds you have mentioned, after 1 hour cycling if the fella doing 11kph stops he will be an entire km ahead of his buddy doing 10kph and it will take him 6 minutes to catch up!

None of us were in that vehicle with that poor individual and none of us can san say what he could or could not see.
In my opinion I believe those lights are too close to that roundabout.

No we cannot say what he could or could not see however if it were a fact that he couldent see the those lights then he should not have been driving and regardless of your opinion with regard to the positioning of the lights,the driver failed to stop at a Red pedestrian light resulting in the death of an innocent law abiding child that is and was indefensible.

Maybe it's in reference to those who say that things like "The Rules of the Road are only for motorised vehicles and don't apply to bicycles - and nor should they - when was the last time you heard of a cyclist killing anyone" or "There's no need for cyclists to be uniquely identifiable because they never cause accidents that are fatal to others".

Our roads are shared spaces and if you can't act in a responsible manner and share it properly so as not to inconvenience others, then you're a c*nt, no matter what method of transport you use from Shank's Mare right up to Articulated Lorry.
