Cyclists

Because those cyclists who don the Lycra and are so utterly inconsiderate of other road-users are a type - seem to think they’re taking part in the Tour de France or something 🙄

As another PROCer put it - they’re part of the BELLYton
Lycra prevents saddle-sore and piles, apparently. Particularly if you've had a few pies before your 10km ride in the countryside.

This could have gone in another thread but will put it here, went cycling today and got a flat tyre, tried to cycle with it but ended up leaving it, pumped it but did not work, did not have far to walk home so that is what I did, with my bicycle by my side.

Hit by a car while on the way home from the pub on your e-bike at two in the morning. Some poor motorist’s no claims is getting wiped out because of this fool.
How do you know she was coming home from the pub? The person could have been working, babysitting, etc.
The motorist deserves more that losing their no claims bonus for leaving the scene of an accident and not checking on the injured person.

Lycra is considered sports appropriate for cycling, just as football boots are for soccer.

Sports appropriate?
I cycle regularly and don’t wear Lycra, and I sure as sh*t don’t try inconvenience other road users by cycling in a manner it makes it difficult or even dangerous to pass.
Most cyclists on our roads today don’t wear Lycra from what I’ve seen. In fact I’d say more wear helmets.

i wear lycra cycling shorts.. a must for long distance cycling...i dont think im taking part in the tour de france...how do you know what these cyclists think??
Are you seriously still trying to convince that gobdaw?! He is impervious, no amount of pointing out the obvious will help I'm afraid.
SoundY has no idea why a cyclist might wear cycling shorts, it doesn't occur to him because he doesn't cycle despite what he says, and if you did explain about the saddle on your road bike he'd suggest you replace it with a good, sprung, leather Brooks one.. shur why not?

Save yourself the hassle and enjoy the spins in the sunshine these days :)

Hilarious how the cycle-Nazis insist that they absolutely just KNOW that those who can’t abide their antics on the road aren’t cyclists.

The gobdaw in this conversation is you, whether you’re an admin or not!

I do cycle, in fact I recently got my last bike-to-work bike before I retire next year.

Sorry to totally destroy your ignorant misconception by the way
