He's a silly man. His outburst didn't have the correct basis in law, and his own contemporaries are raging at him for his spectacular lack of judgement. And all of this from a man who himself had shown worse judgement than any of these cyclists years ago, but his lack of self awareness couldn't halt his gallop

That case will be appealed and the award increased even though it sounds like the cyclist had a fair part to play in his own demise also, but thats not insurance necessarily works

His punishment should be that he is made cycle to work every day for a year, he'd be a better judge of this type of case afterwards

I totally agree especially with your last paragraph.

I used to be hostile to cyclists and dismissive of their concerns. That was until I started cycling around the city myself.

Cyclists are not the problem. Motorists are.
