People in glass houses. The judge was trolling and has been caught with his pants down.Drink Driving.
The ultimate road safety sin.
He's a silly man. His outburst didn't have the correct basis in law, and his own contemporaries are raging at him for his spectacular lack of judgement. And all of this from a man who himself had shown worse judgement than any of these cyclists years ago, but his lack of self awareness couldn't halt his gallopPeople in glass houses. I totally agree especially with your last paragraph. He's a silly man. His outburst didn't have the correct basis in law, and his own contemporaries are raging at him for his spectacular lack of judgement. And all of this from a man who himself had shown worse judgement than any of these cyclists years ago, but his lack of self awareness couldn't halt his gallop
That case will be appealed and the award increased even though it sounds like the cyclist had a fair part to play in his own demise also, but thats not insurance necessarily works
His punishment should be that he is made cycle to work every day for a year, he'd be a better judge of this type of case afterwards
