Cyclists

cycling in the city especially around rush hours can be challanging. im doing it for around fifthy years so am expierienced.. it seems a bit incredible in this day and age that anyone can buy or rent a bike and ride around the city without any training or instruction whatsoever...( i am not in anyway making reference to the tragic death of that girl).

That has got to be the best post ever put up in this forum by a cyclist.

It’s also incredible that you can fail your driving test not gaining a certificate of competence to drive and yet you can drive away from the test centre and go on your merry way.

It seems that it is only a minority of drivers actually know the correct way to use indicators at a roundabout
And there’s a couple don’t know the correct lane to be in at a roundabout either. Road-markings are your friend. Enter the roundabout in the correct lane for the exit you seek, and proceed with caution and courtesy.

Indicators are used to show your intention (request) to change lane - they don’t confer on you the right to change lane.
And they’re not there to show you’re turning right in a right-turn-only lane.

One of the advantages of cycling in town is every so often you rattle the permanently angry out of their minds. Some fella nearly walked into me because he wasn’t looking where he was going. This made him angry and he started abusing me. When I gave it back his abuse grew worse but he made sure he was far enough away from before threatening to bate the head off me.

Oh well. 🤷‍♂️
