Motorists have forced authorities to bring in cycle lanes by their refusal to share public roads with more vulnerable road users.

Now motorists are up in arms about the very existence of these lanes.

In their ideal world motorists would like to see an outright ban on cycling and pedestrians would be required to dress up like Christmas trees before leaving the house.

Yeah expecting cyclists to use the multi million spend cycling infrastructure is clearly totally unreasonable.

this thread is getting very tiresome. everyone sniping at each other... in reality as has been said before there is appalling road behaviour on all sides , pedestrians included.. what continues to amuse me is some posters constantly refering to lyrcra .. its an amazing fabric , thats all it is , a fabric .

It's just a shame all road users can't get along. Poor road users struggling with their own failings only creates anger and incidents occur. As for lycra, it the most suitable fabric to wear when cycling, you wouln't wear jeans or a suit for it anyway

Most cyclists don't wear lycra but the ones that do have just as much right to use the public highway as you in your white van.

true, i wear them but wear " shy shorts" over them. they are very comfortable on longer cycles( 40 km or more) and if you plan on cycling a few days in a row then wear them..they were especially handy in the very hot weather when if you are doing alot of hills the sweat runs down your back. they are made to wick away the mostuire .
