Cyclists

It's a traffic light, it was red, he didn't stop at it.
Make up your own mind.
He should have got the maximum sentence
Why would I need to make up my mind ?

You are one of the hysterical crew here making no sense to simple questions I am posing.

Obviously you don't follow the court threads in here, " should have got the maximum sentence "

That sure is naive.

I'm not hysterical at all, I am not the one the trying to find some sort of out for a driver who drove thru a red light and killed a child.

How is that naive, just because the courts here might not give maximum sentences,
that doesnt mean an opinion on his sentencing cant be expressed

He killed a child, screw him and his business. Any good deeds he has behind him stand for nothing compared to what he did on that day.
RIP to the young lad.

It sounds like a tragic accident. Human error for whatever reason. Distraction, not paying attention, a lapse in concentration.

It doesn't appear to have been wilful or a blatant disregard for the safety of pedestrians. He will live with his mistake for the rest of his life.

I reckon a lot of drivers have had incidents that could have resulted in tragedy.

If you are paying attention whilst driving then how can you possibly drive through a red light by mistake?

Either he chose to ignore the light and drive through anyway, or he was distracted by something he shouldn’t have been and drove through. Both of those scenarios are his fault and it has resulted in him killing a child
Nobody is saying it wasn't his fault. He was wrong because he drove through a red light. But it's also wrong to say that it was deliberate.

Take no notice, some on here have their emotions on their sleeves and are sheepeople.

Accidents can and do happen, this terribly unfortunate accident has had a very sad outcome for everyone involved in it.

Some dip shits here probably think the driver of the vehicle is out celebrating because he got " such a light sentence ".
He will have to live with the consequences of this for the rest of his life.

An out, ?
Oh FFS.

You obviously should follow the court threads because the system is a joke.

He was doing 37kph which wasn't excessive but it's the momentum that kills you. Mass x velocity.

When you're driving a massive SUV like he was the momentum is nearly double that of a small car. I know they say speed kills, and it's true, but it's actually momentum which factors in the weight of a vehicle.

But we are doing nothing about everyone buying tanks. Can't be seen to impact the Holy Motor Industry.

Heartbreaking reading the mother's statement. Still expecting the kid to walk in the door. Your man should be doing five years prison minimum IMO. Sends a message.
