The old train line passes through monotonous farmland mostly, if folks are going for the sea view they will be disappointed…Complete insanity not putting the train back in service.

The lack of joined up thinking in this country is infuriating. Surely it would make sense to put the train back in service and build houses, houses and more houses along the line.

There must be a decent reason not to have?
Given the width of the greenway now I’d say it would have only fit one track wide, maybe that would have been enough and the one train could just have run up and down?

I know feck all about construction but I know ancillary services like water connections are an issue in a lot of house building projects. Obviously planning would need to be joined up too.

A double track would be needed or at the very least a loop line at Killeagh and Mogeely.

You do realise that you are heading to east Cork like, which is dull as fuck. A bike ride is hardly gonna liven up the misfortunate place

A friend of mine knocked down cycling home last night in a cycle lane.. some scrote came flying along the footpath towards them on a e-scooter, jumped onto the cycle lane on the wrong side, smashed into 3 cyclists with my buddy the first hit so the other 2 landed on him and broke his elbow.

The shithead on the scooter sped off and left them all there.. FFS

Pity there is not some sort of identifiable numbers akin to a registration number on those e - scooters etc.

There are probably CCTV cameras in the area but thats not going to help find a lad dressed head to toe in black gear! Chances are registration wouldn't help either as there is no guarantee that the scooter was even his. A lot of these are stolen, bought 2nd hand, some guy using a friends one etc. and there is no insurance issue with using one you don't own like there would be in a car or motorbike.

Either way catching him is neither here nor there really, 8-12 weeks of a heal on an elbow for a lad with a job, family etc is the more pressing issue.
