Corn Ui Mhuiri

An absolute no brainer.

Scrap the development squads and put all the resources into the schools. You see every year how players develop playing in Harty schools. The same level of effort and preparation needs to be put into the Corn Ui Mhuiri ones and that needs to come from the County Board firstly
This narrative gets pushed regularly.
But, the GAA is not the priority of the principal or the board of management in any school. And to think the "County Board" can dictate things to schools is complete fallacy..

I think people forget that, the GAA don't have the run at schools that they had in past and nowadays schools cater for many more sports than in the past.

Reason standard in schools is so high is because there is no CB involvement
If there was the selectors would be picking each other's son's and friends rather than the best 15
A neutral PE teacher will always pick an entirely different team to clubs in the locality
A lot of under performing over rated players get found out in Harty and Cirn ui mhuiri
Inversely new players that were ignored at club level get unearthed
Great reason to keep the CB out of it

Sad to see Corks most succesful footballing school Coláiste Chríost Rí losing in the first round in senior C heavily after last year where they competed in the B for the first time in living memory where they also lost their first game. Only 2 years ago they were playing Corn Uí Mhuirí.

Unthinkable really, terrible to see
