Cork U20 hurlers 2026

Awh lads that was a brilliant win! Our workrate was through the roof. The attitude in this group is second to none. That win tonight away to a talented Waterford side in a windswept Fraher Field would warm the heart. Well done to all involved. Lets hope the team get Barry Walsh back at some stage but even without him, it won't phase them. Up stepped James O' Brien tonight who was superb.

If you think that Cork team has what it takes to win Munster or the All Ireland you are living in la la land. The standard there was shocking regardless of the weather. Def better players around the county.
wow! i didnt know you won minor munster & all ireland medals! my apologies 😆😆😆

I’m sorry they haven’t reached your high standards, do tell us who these better players are so we can pass them on to the management 🙄🙄🙄

Both statements can simultaneously be true anyway!

It's mad how lads develop or rather what one guy can see in a player and another doesn't.

I wouldn't have picked a fella like Jack Counihan from last years minors out as a potential u20 player this year and there he was coming on tonight and making a solid contribution.

Waterford probably did the right thing in throwing in so many of lads years minors so early, it was the right call long term imo. They missed a couple of good players tonight and Cork missed B Walsh who was a huge loss for us.

Cork have promoted an awful lot of last years minors too. I think we all felt they were a very strong group who maybe underperformed in the semis having beaten both Clare and Waterford (twice) in Munster.

Good to see these lads being fast tracked. Good few on the extended panel.

A fella like James O Brien stepping up too...didn't go his way in the last game (possible knock?)but showed his quality tonight. Frees probably helped get him and keep him in the game too. Think it can be important for a fella who was probably taking them the whole way up...and is used to being involved more in the game as a result.

Clare game could be interesting now if Clare lose to Tipp....it's effectively a game for home advantage in the semi final....tough to know exactly how you best approach that.

There was some quality ball played in in front of the forwards when needed against the wind in the second half and the forwards duly obliged.

Jack Counihan unreal when he came on, so impressive getting on breaks and had the hurling and pace for the tight spaces.

Garde has some stick skills - can dummy the strike at the last second and adjust to a flick before getting hooked, possibly the one to watch of all of this crew.

Finn O’Brien will have better nights in terms of end product but he was dangerous all night , and being marked by waterfords best defender. He has some pace.

James O’Brien and Oisin Walsh quality of striking into the wind was the winning of the game really , top notch.

3 of the big lads in the forward division did look awkward and were just off it in that first half but every player knuckled down in that second half. Super win.

Was that Donal og roaring at the Waterford freetaker towards the end ? Seemed to be , embarrassing stuff if so

Seems to be ready to explode...but just unlucky tonight in some ways. Should have buried the goal chance. Did well and ran out of room for his second chance and then Murphy dropped a good pass from him....so on another night could have lit up the scoreboard.

I would like to see him tap one or two early chances over if he gets them and settle into the game...feel like him and Barry O Flynn can score more but maybe need better ball at times too.
