Cork U20 hurlers 2026

Am I the only one who thinks that if BOC intends starting Walsh v Tipp on the Sunday it potentially makes sense he not play 3.5 days earlier on Wed night? He could get injured and, even if not, is likely to pick up knocks and to expend a lot of energy (and yes I know he is only 20 so should have boundless energy but, well, it isn’t boundless and a 2% drop is noticeable at the top level).

Our senior season could end in a week if we lose to Tipp (with Limerick the following week). Id love the u20s to win the AI but my absolute priority would be the Seniors winning it - and if BOC thinks that resting BW helps to bring that about then….

It's a messy one. Given the intensity levels of the modern game you would have to assume playing the U20 match is going to have an impact. My own view (with zero scientific back up) would be that if he intends starting BW then he should only play the 2nd half of the U20 game but if BW is only a sub for the Seniors he should be allowed play the full U20 game. Ultimately though for me the Senior game takes priority.
