Cork U20 hurlers 2026

The one thing i'll give him is he gave up his paid GDA job to take the voluntary position of coaching officer at the time because he felt he could do more good there.

I dealt with him on a few issues while he was in that position and he was great. His passion for the job was obvious and he went above and beyond to assist.

Ive been very underwhelmed with some of the CCB decisions in recent years....but ultimately a lot of those decisions being made with the debt hanging over them.

I do think its time for a change though. Nobody should be in the role more than the 7 year term imo.

In relation to CCB decisions, do you disagree with them on the cancellation of last year’s homecoming for the Cork senior hurlers?

We have to be realistic here as well. The pay for Cork GAA CEO/Secretary would not entice the best minds to apply for the job.
There is lots of folk with a strong interest in Cork GAA making more money in their current jobs, with way less responsibiliy and can shut off at the end of the day. It is a thankless enough job. Diarmuid O'Donovan was on €55k a year before he left, so maybe Kevin O'Donovan is on €80-100k.
He got the job running a multi million euro business with basically no experience, other than an interest in GAA. What do we expect to happen??

is this fact or you just heard it third hand? what were the factors?

they shouldnt, they have had enougn chances at this stage, nothing to do with me not liking them, they just should be held to the high standards one of them stated live on national television a few years back, their term is up, thank them and move them on and let someone like Fergal McCormack have a go
I thought there was another level in this U20 squad and we just didn't hit it on the day. I still think they are better than what panned out, but such is life. Tacking over points instead of goals could have been enough to get beyond Clare, despite Clare being good the last day. I'm not sure who that's on, the players or the sideline.

Thank god they cancelled it.
The one the year before was as depressing as you get. Nobody wanted to be there. Players forced up on stage and had to put on a brave face. The crowd trying their best to be enthusiastic.
There should never again be a homecoming after a defeat, it's pointless.

both, the players are old enough to make those decisions but composure and clarity comes from the management amnd we looked far from composed last week
