I’d point out to lads eulogising Kerry for all their dominance at schools level that they are lagging a fair bit behind Dublin whose schools rarely make any impact on the Leinster colleges championship and who emphasise development squads. So who’s right?

Another thing fellas cite as a solution to all Cork’s woes in football and hurling is an outside manager. This team has a Dubliner managing them.

We have a Football Director who is there 5 fucking years. Lads come on . 5 YEARS. This Coaching Pathway is churning our Duds who can set up a team properly. Young lads being let down. PATHETIC. But Listen Springsteen is doing 3 Gigs down the Pairc.

The difference in conditioning is very noticeable to be fair. There's absolutely zero excuse for that to be the case.

Management have to take that on the chin for sure. Abysmal display of football.

Kerry no great shakes but as ever just better footballers when scores needed. A couple of good players for the future if we develop them right.

The system is obviously rotten and malfunctioning and has been for years and just seems to be getting worse..the status of football is lost and it’s sad..it is a complete failure..whoever is involved is failing..the schools are failing, tactics, fitness …and it has been like this for years

Why not?? Only need 3 or 4 to use as hothouses as you put it..you could nearly pick those schools as it is ...

Do the kids get a choice where they go to school? It can’t work in a county this size with this many schools, therefore you are absolutely dependent on your development squads and associated coaches ala Dublin for example.

Coaching is to expose as many players as possible to GAA and proper coaching, we don’t have the resources to ‘ hothouse’

Why are fellas spouting this complete shite about competing with other Sports. You have 2 Rugby Schools in Cork City . Stop talking crap. The County Board could target 3 Schools in Cork city with 3 full times coaches tomorrow. The reality is they don' t care. Ray o mahony failed as a minor manager as did michael o brien but still get 20s gig baffling. Get in people like graham canty Nicolas murphy who know what it takes
