Lads, I said a few days ago that some of the comments on here were way over the top, and they were, but I’ll tell ye this, if some adult clattered a young fella from my club in the back with a hurley 20 years ago I’d be still holding a grudge too so come down off yer righteous high horses

Furlong was no angel on the field of play either, in fact he would be known as a sneaky fucker, so there is bound to be fellas with issues with his carry on from long ago.

He lost me about 3 years ago with his carry on as a senior selector and what I’ve seen with this years under 20s doesn’t in any way change my mind

We then have a head coach working with him with this years 20s who is basically a bluffer and a dinasour tactically.

Cusack’s lucky he wasn’t at this crack a few years back when he went on air with a state of the nation attack on all things cork hurling. Pity he doesn’t apply his high standards to himself for once and walk away from a role he is not able for

Cork hurling is on the rise but it continuously needs the right people guiding our teams, giving jobs to fellas just cause of who they are is like something from the 80s

Lad, they weren’t thrown together 6 weeks ago, they are together for the last 6 months. What the fcuk were they doing for the first 5?

We had a game plan against Clare in the first round that was more for the coaches benefit than the teams. Thankfully someone in the group saw the wood from the trees and the system changed slowly with each game until we finally played proper hurling against Clare in the semi final, a game we were very unlucky to lose.

Imagine if we trained that way for 6 months?

True, and it could hardly have gone backwards from the 1st 2 games.
What happened after that was the players were let play a bit of a hurling, with less constraints from management I suspect.
