Cork U-20 Hurlers 2025

Any idea how they got on Friday nite in challenge match in mtu
I have no idea but I believe this is the game Pat Ryan was referring to in an interview when he named some of the Cork senior players who were playing for MTU the same evening as the Canon O'Brien Cup game.

After his performance last Sunday Ciaran O'Leary has to be involved with Cork U-20's, I believe he is on the age but Vlad or other posters may clarify if I'm incorrect. Managements are raving about workrate and this guy has it in abundance but hasn't been previously selected at inter-county minor or U-20 although I have a feeling he was involved with the minor squad in 2022 but didn't make the cut?

Ciaran O'Leary is with the u20 footballers AFAIK

the cork under 20 hurlers would beat watergrasshill by 30 points. the levels are in no way a comparison
I don't think the gap would be that wide and although I wasn't comparing folk must consider that 2 of the WGH team won AI U-20 medals with Cork a few years back along with the fact that Mick O'Driscoll would walk the current Cork team if fit. Kevin O'Neill was also a Cork minor and U-21 about a decade ago. Just look at Feakle in your own county in 5 years and look at Charleville who defeated them in that Munster final.

However I was referring to the prowess and contribution of Ciaran O'Leary in an AI final. Remember Oisin Fitzgerald and Sean O'Donoghue played on the losing St. Catherine's team in last years AI Junior Final, I'd expect both of them to be involved with Cork U-20's this year. O'Donoghue performed well v Clare minors in 2022 but had a lesser day in Croker for St. Catherine's. Fitzgerald played well in Croker but was only a sub for Cork minors and introduced as a forward when he's a powerhouse defender. I don't think neither of them performed as well as O'Leary did last Sunday.

Mr.Mustard

Thanks for that, come to think of it I think O'Leary was involved with both minor squads in the early stages of 2022 selections.

As far as I'm aware Ciaran O Leary is 19. I think he prefers football and was to join the U20 football panel after the All Ireland final.

I think he's worth a look with the U20 hurlers, hurling needs a bit of polishing but has a ferocious workrate and 6 weeks with the hurlers could see his hurling improve further.

You'd want to have a chat with that young fella Vlad.
