Cork Senior Football 2023

Poor man management.....that's all I'll say.
Not sure what's been reportedly said or what happened...Brian Hayes obviously made a call which he is 100% entitled to do so. Best of luck to him.

Not sure how Cleary can manage that? Its the players call, he has a relationship with the hurling manager having had success with u20s not really a great surprise.
If Cleary asked him to choose than that is not a great surprise either, cannot have lads playing both, those days are gone at inter county level and Cleary may wish /wants to concentrate on those that are 100% committed.
He is quoted previously as saying he did not have a preference ( again entitled to change his mind) and possibly wants to give the hurling a go. Hope he is successful with the small ball in 2023.

Whatever about Hayes but Cork football has a serious problem at present. The fact so many willingly choose hurling over it despite not winning an AI with 17 years, other players opting not to be involved compounds that issue.

It *should* be given serious review by CCB. It won’t be though. Another critical question relating to what Counihan’s role is exactly.

I think excluding dual players from involvement in minor/U20 teams would be the first step. Give all development opportunities to players focused on football. It’s not as it the current approach of accommodating dual players in these squads is yielding AIs anyway

Travis & Foxy have gone very quiet - is he/they?

(A) too busy back training with Cork
(B) no longer involved in Clonakilty SF
(C) embarassed over the whole 'Douglas' story being proven to be a figment of his imagination by Clancys return to the fold

Answers on an Inchydony postcard only please 🙈

Players will make their decisions based on the next 7/10 years not the previous 10/20. The past is an irrelevance.

Which code has a better chance to win an all Ireland in next 7-10 years?

And...what has that go to do with the price of spuds.......

Footballers haven't won an AI in 12 years and not even made to a final in that period of time......
Only won 1 Munster title

In the same 12 years, the Hurlers have been in 2 AI finals (obviously losing both) and been in 4 Munster finals wining 3 losing 1.....

So statisically speaking.....Hurlers Look the better option for adding medal to cabinets.....
