It was their backs was the problemWithout Adam O'Sullivan and Conor Kirby I had my doubts about Ballinhassig winning this one, with them playing I definitely would have fancied them to win, they were huge losses especially O'Sullivan as the 'Hassig lacked the forward power to get over the line today.
Kirby was a loss as O'Callaghan doesn't have the legs and they should have started Lyne but there would have been a lot more scores on the board with a fully fit Adam O'Sullivan. Ger Collins also struggling with movement and held scoreless from play albeit mainly double marked which would have been restricted big time with O'Sullivan playing. Along with O'Leary, M. Collins and Cullinane taken off and Lynch sent off all forwards says enough. With Desmond wing-back mid-field also too weak. Ballinhassig can only improve personnel wise at Senior A next year with Adam O'Sullivan being fit, maybe the return of Richie Lombard and definitely Eoghan O'Shea stepping up in 2 years time. Conor Kirby and Jamie Lyne are the only possibilities of improving todays defence and that would be minimal.It was their backs was the problem

While the final result looks one sided, the whole game was decided in the 39th minute when the referee gave 2 red cards to the Mills for a high tackle and dissent. First one was a 2nd yellow but 2nd red seemed extremely harsh and rash by the referee. And then Mills received a 3rd red card at the end but I did not see that incident to comment on it.
The only consolation is, the Clare boys are livid online, lol.
From a Cork point of view, Ballinhassig weren't top far off Upperchurch in Thurles in the semi final.
Curran definitely staying so? I suppose in split season it's manageable. He might miss a lot of the league games but come championship should be no problem.Anthony Nash gone in with Curran in Ballincollig i hear.
