That's why they're paying the big bucks
Last time i was on here talking about Macroom i mentioned Pa lucey as some man to kick points and the thing with him is he can do it with both left or right .Macroom pulled off some voodoo shit to get over the line today. They shouldn’t have been there in the first place only for some poor gamesmanship on the line against castletownbere but look that’s football. They really stuck to their guns today and held the faith until the final whistle. Pa Lucey with a display of kicking that Munster rugby might nearly look into. I think they kicked 7 2 pointers today and Pa Lucey himself had 5 of them. Big mention to Shane Meaney for a 2 point effort that would drive the macroom men on in the first hal when the chips were down. He must have got that from his father before him who could kick scores for fun.
Bandon in fairness died with their boots on and can be proud of themselves for the display they put in today. It’s a real pity that one of these 2 teams were facing the drop becuase I watched Kiskeam play aghabollogue yesterday and lord above were they lucky not to be in a relegation final. Aghabollogue look the real deal heading in to the business end of things and I’d be suprised if they don’t go up to senior. I think they have a bit more than Uibh Laoire and certainly have the depth to get over the line against them in a county final. I’d imagine their game against the ballyvourney men will be a narrow victory as the men from the west set up to play “puke football” as that bollox from across the county bounds would say. I look forward to these county semis and county final, but by god will next year’s championship be a spectacle for the neutral man.
The golden generation is nearly finished now and if they go up a grade they will only be fighting to stay up there. If aghabullogue get over this game and that's a big if then they will do the double.Aghabullogue Naomh Abán could go all the way, I'm predicting ET and maybe penalties, Aghabullogue on the go now every week, at some stage it's bound to take its toll and with Corkery injured he's a big loss.
Iveleary should have plenty to spare over Aghade, they'll be really targeting senior football now to follow Cill na Martra up and make the most of their golden generation
I mentioned Uibh Laoire and Aghabullogue as my two teams to go to final this year and uibh Laoire to just about be a little stronger ..I can’t see naomh aban beating aghabullouge with the new rules.
Watched them play a poor game of football last year in macroom where naomh aban were always just hanging on by 2/3 points playing extremely defensively.
Think aghabullouge will cut through them this time around and win by 5/6 points.
Heard they lost to buttevant in a practice game last week, had close to championship team playing. They always have a high opinion of themselves with nothing to show for itI mentioned Uibh Laoire and Aghabullogue as my two teams to go to final this year and uibh Laoire to just about be a little stronger ..
I still think same however I was talking with a Naomh Aban man a few weeks ago and he told me they are going well and he fancies them to go all the way . One thing I would predict is Aghabullogue won't cut through them easily as you might get away with it once but those guys know how to defend .
Buttevant could be intermediate next year and there isn't a big difference between top teams in Intermediate A and Premier intermediate.Heard they lost to buttevant in a practice game last week, had close to championship team playing. They always have a high opinion of themselves with nothing to show for it
