Cork Minor Hurling 2024

Will the minors next year be any good? Who are the players to look out for and is there any potential senior players in this age group?
They should be good but Tipp will be the team to beat with their Hurler of the Year among others underage again in 2025. Too early to look at potential senior hurlers from this group but based on what I have seen I've been very impressed with Cian Galvin, Colm Garde, Michael T. Brosnan and Eoghan O'Shea in the last few years.

From my reading of it and having watched them for a couple of years ,I would be hopeful that they will make an impact on the championship next year.
The players named above will form the backbone of next year's team. The lads seemed to have responded well to Fergal McCormack and his backroom team. The players seem to be more at ease with his management style. This is the polar opposite to 2024 when the lads were nervous and unsure. There doesn't appear to be any obvious anomalies with selection so far i.e they are picking the best players in their best positions.

Very impressive by Glen Rovers U-16's last night. Apparently only 3 or 4 players with Cork whereas Midleton have at least 9 players on respective Cork U-16 and U-15 squads. A good amount of the Glen players will line out in a Premier 1 minor semi-final tomorrow night.

P1 Semi-finals up the Dyke this evening at 6.30 & 8pm. Well worth a view.
First up Sars v B'collig. Two evenly matched teams but Sars main man, Cork U20 Barry O'Flynn, out injured so they'll struggle for scores. Could see this one getting feisty as both teams are fairly physical.
Glen v Midleton up second. Glen very strong around the middle whereas Midleton are more balanced but you'd have to fancy the reigning champions to make it through. Midleton haven't been afraid to use the timber in earlier rounds and the Glen are no shrinking violets either so choice of ref could be pivotal here. Cathal McAllister hopefully!!

The RebelOg teams are cod at this stage. 15 + lads from Imokilly and a few stragglers from the other clubs on most sides these days. To be involved and outside Imokilly you have to be exceptional.

Minor championship match between Ballinhassig and na piarsaighs abandoned tonight after piarsaighs player attacked an umpire.
Was a Ballinhassig players father was what I heard. Good bit of damage to yer mans head. Wasn't there so don't know how it all came about.
