Cork Minor Hurling 2024

Is there a lack of quality at this age considering only one team in each of the main 2 competitions, or is it cos Cork are divided into 4 regions. Midleton do have a very large representation, looks like they must be miles ahead at that grade.
Also in the West, Muskerry future looking good, only Cork team in top competition.

As far as I know, at U14 age level, Cork are still playing in their divisional zones, East, North, City and West. From a competition held a number of weeks back, Cork West progressed to the Tony Forristal competition and Cork East progressed to the Sonny Walsh.
Kilkenny won the TF yesterday and Waterford won the SW.

In 2023 the cork teams mixed why division sides now

In 2018, Cork won the Tony Forristal and Sony Walsh with a Cork ‘A’ and Cork ‘B’ team. In 2019 and for a couple of years after this, Cork entered no team in these U14 competitions. With the last couple of years they are entering into the competition with divisional teams. I think the Rebel Og take on it is that they don’t want to be categorising players and forming county squads at such a young age.

At u15s it's not that way it's all mixed and in 2023 it was mixed wit 3 teams at tony forristal

all of the squads competed in to Tony forristal. Just east and west went to Waterford and north and city went to laois
Ok, well that makes more sense. Anyone have idea who city and north were playing and how they got on? East and west had both wexford, waterford , kilkenny Laois, Limerick and Dublin teams with them, along with two tipp teams, who i think are split in 3.

I do know north beat offaly after extra time and galway beat them in semi final . I think city won a shield final aswell

I also know a couple of the players on the city panel off the top of my head but wouldnt know everyone but ill list out what im fairly confident in saying anyway

Alex crowley, michael o donovan
- barrs
Eolann o donovan- mayfield
Cian coakley, alan lydon- blackrock
Naoise daly -whitechurch
Mattie o leary -nemo
Dont know names but about 10 fellas from douglas
Cathal geaney- st colmcilles
David o connor, finn o connor, finn brady - passage
Blackrock also have Darragh Waters, Alan Kirwan and Jack Kearney on the City team.

Do you know which of the 'Barrs lads plays wing-forward, he's a very good and athletic rangy player who seems to cover every blade of grass on the pitch?

I believe the following players are involved with North Cork:

Harry O'Connor, Muiris O'Riordan and Finn Curtin - Ballyhea

Paddy Brosnan, Stephen McHugh and Charlie O'Mahony - Shandrum

Luke McAuliffe and Charlie Collins - Charleville

Sean Riordan - Kilworth

Does anyone know why Sean Hogan (Eire Og) and Sam Dolan (Carrigtwohill) are not on the West and East panels respectively? They were the highest scorers in the Premier 2 Championship and Hogan scored 6 majors alone in the county final, are they both U-13?
