Cork Minor Hurling 2023

The usual imbalance remains regarding the picking of Cork selectors as there isn't any minor hurling selector from the Muskerry & Carbery Divisions and none from Avondhu or Duhallow among the respective football selectors.
Tbh I can understand the hurling choices. In any event Myler is so strong.
Not having a football selector from the football strong hold of Duhallow or Avondhu is mind boggling. But there is one from East Cork.. and 2 from west cork!!

The reason given at the county board meeting tonight actually was fixtures issues!! So, you might be wrong on that I’d say.
Children are too young at 16.
I've acknowledged fixtures issues is the real problem in my post but they're not going to tackle that unless they revert to knock-out competition instead of group games. This is a no-go with the GAA across the board.

How do you mean Myler is so strong? At U-15 level in 2022 he was selecting more players from the West and City of course but now it has changed for U-17 looking towards 2024 although it's understood theres still a good sprinkling from the City. I hope Luke Hurley is involved or is he to become the next Ben O'Connor???

Sorry.. I’m not clear on what your question is.

I see Peter Sykes from Ballyhooly is a selector. He must be surely the first ever English man to be a selector of a Cork hurling team. Moved to Ireland from Yorkshire in 2005. Nice fella with a massive interest in sport. I don't know much about his hurling brain but Meyler must have picked him for good reason.

Outside of Vincie Hurley the hurling brain power in that group is limited. Seanie will be good from a man management perspective. Not sure what the rest of them bring to the table.
