Galway seem handy as well. I haven't seen them but they only lost by four at Nowlan Park having played a man down the last twenty minutes.
Cork definitely more fluent than Waterford, and have more potential match winners. In the round-robin game O'Sullivan was quiet from play but Deane excelled, last night Waterford handled Deane well but O'Sullivan scored five from play and could have had more. Waterford shot a fair number of wides in both matches, but also don't seem as able to move the ball quickly to create clear shooting chances in good positions. To be fair, Cork defended well as a team last night, really good work from the forwards and midfielders to turn over possession.
One thing Cork need to work on is their fielding. Sam Ring caught a great ball for his goal, but before that they were struggling to win high balls into the forwards. That could be a real problem for a team that can upset their preferred delivery from the hbs and midfield into space in front of the FF line. And I'd like to see the Cork defenders go for the catch more often - there's nothing wrong with getting the ball to ground and winning the break on occasion, but they rely on it a bit too much imo.
Cork have a nice break before the SF - any chance Coffey might have recovered by then?
