It hasn't really happened a whole lot since the days of Farrenferris. It's few and far between that people will go out of their way to attend a school just for football/hurling. Not to say it doesn't happen. We see it in Clon occassionally, particularly since with the likes of Haulie Sullivan, Haulie ONeill and Paul Holland involved with the school teams. It's rare but not unheard of to see Ross and Castlehaven lads make the trek to play with Clonakilty CC.

Fair play to you Fox your always find a way to bring Clon into the conversation. Keep it up as I enjoy reading your posts..

Thanks, likewise, you’re an excellent poster, i always pay attention to your posts on football in mid cork.
I think anyone who is involved with their club here (and there are many hurlers on the ditch who aren’t) gives their opinion through the prism of their own clubs experience. Myself and Trav just happen to do it as members of the most hated club in Cork and clearly that draws the attention and ire of a few jealous posters.

As we say on the chat, over the last 70 years, St Nicks have won more counties, yes, St Nicks.

There are no school hubs in Kerry. Kerry has two large towns in Killarney & Tralee. Brendan’s, the Green etc Hoover up the majority of talent by default. Kenmare and Dingle are cyclical depending on their crop. Milltown are growing recently.

Corks large towns of Ballincollig/Carrigaline/Midleton have multiple schools and don’t have the singular focus. All depending on a teacher or group of teachers to drive them

Mounthawk and CBS spread the tralee based talent.
No town in Cork has 2 equal level schools from a GAA sense.
The large towns in Cork have 1 strong and 1 weak GAA school, where the talent gets pulled to the strong.

That's great to see - not so much the titles, but the number of teams and players fielded across those grades. Keep the net spread as wide as possible for as long as possible.
