Cork life centre

Tbh I’ve 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandkids in Derrys Creggan estate
And Crossmaglen South Armagh,
I can categorically confirm that the GFA is not good for a sizeable population of the 6 Counties both nationalist and unionist

one man’s meat etc etc
On a seperate note.
This Free state shit really pisses me off. Im not sure if youve said it but given your background Im sure if not you nearly everyone you know has said it about people in for example Cork, the last headquarters of the anti treatyites.
Maybe you could inform them that my and others, grandfathers and great grandfathers were imprisoned in the lady prison in Sunday's Well for their opposition to the treaty for over a year. I dont know if youve been there but it would put the worst prison conditions that any Republican prisoners in the North ever suffered to shame.
Tell them to wash their ignorant fucking mouths out and maybe to point the finger of blame at their own divisional commanders.
As for those cu%ts outside Munster? You can call them what you want.

From the perspective of our northern brothers trapped on the far side of an arbitrary line, the majority of our TDs at the time voted to opt for a Free State and let them stew under the british. Naturally they didn't take it well and while it is inaccurate for them to describe us all as such, you can see from many down here even amongst posters on PROC, there are many who'd quite happily have left them continue to stew under the british.

I'm alright jackism to the Nth degree - is difficult to understand from the point of view of nationalists trapped in the north where they were discriminated against for decades. Imagine if the Plantation of Munster had taken greater hold and it was the six counties of Munster that were cut off from the other 26 counties, I'm sure there'd be plenty here undiplomatic in their nomenclature for those who'd left us in the poo.

There are plenty here saying, "What's in it for me if we get 32 counties. If it costs me a penny more why should I vote for it?" kinda stuff.

Blah de blah de blah. "A penny" lol. €20bn a year for 20 years, but shinners were never good at finance unless they were robbing or begging irish americans for it.

It's as if we didn't have our own problems for 70-80 years with a shit economy, shit catholic church, shit leaders and loads of emigration. The nordie republicans have been sitting on their holes since the GFA expecting us to owe them a living, while the likes of you will be happy to fuck the Republic's poor and working class to pay for these freeloaders. If you want to talk about sellouts, start with yourself. What's worse is they have done nothing to sort out their relationship with their fellow NI brits, expecting us to be so thick to expect us to deal with their sectarian mess after a UI.

And of course you have no problem with relegating Cork to 3rd city status behind Belfast and Dublin, with the nordies getting all the infrastructure money that isn't going to Dublin. That says it all about you and your fellow travellers.

Care to tell us where you pulled the 20Bn a year for 20 years out of? 🤣

He got it here I'd say

This study has been contested by a DCU one from last year, which say 3Bn first year break even by year 9.

So comparable to the 2008 crash in some ways with a sunnier upland after that

The interesting thing is there is a narrative that the civil war was mainly about partition when it was hardly mentioned at all in the treaty debates, which were far more to do with the oath of allegiance than anything else. There was probably a tacit acceptance that at that time there was no military path to victory against a Britain that was motivated to keep the six counties and a heavily armed and mobilised unionist population there.

Of course the great imponderable of Irish history is what would have happened if there hadn't been a civil war and the free state government had instead been pushed to focus on the border commission which was intended to be a lot more active than it ever was.

The first one is from two economists, one of whom is

Professor John Fitzgerald, son of Garrett Fitzgerald and Economist for over 50 years, including 30+ years at the ESRI and also adjunct Professor of Economics at TCD

the other

Professor Edgar Morgenroth, Professor of Economics at DCU. He holds a PhD in Economics from Keele University in the UK, and Bachelor’s (Economics and Geography) and Masters (Economics and Finance) degrees from Maynooth University. He is also an alumnus of Boston College, having been awarded a Diploma in Urban Economic Development in Boston (MA).

The second one is from

Professor John Doyle, SF's go to Republican, err "neutral". He is Vice President for Research in Dublin City University. He was previously Director of DCU Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction and Professor of International Conflict Resolution in DCU School of Law and Government. He is not an Economist but clearly his modus operandi is to push anything out there for the Shinnerbot ecosphere to amplify, creating the narrative that this is a nugget of the shiniest gold.

Republicans in general don't like to reflect on that, in the same way they attempt to besmirch the memory of John Hume.

Ive noticed this a lot from you and I find it particularly jarring.
Just to set the record straight. The PRoC is in no way reflective of the attitudes of ordinary Cork people. In fact it's not within a horses roar of the attitudes of ordinary Cork people.
The clue is in the description, satirical forum. Just to save the back and forth, this is not up for debate. This is a fact. The posters in this forum are either cranks that struggle to get an audience elsewhere(sound familiar?) or people on the wind trying to stir as much shit as they can.

So yeah, the next nordie that says Free Stater to me is getting a punch in the nose, the cu&t.

So you find what others post to a self-declared satirical forum "particularly jarring" and you want to go around punching folk on the nose.

Perhaps PROC is not for you - just a suggestion like
