I dont think it was an attempted gouge either - I mean it would be difficult to gouge a player moving away from you, over his shoulder and through his helmet.
But it was a deliberate pullback on a player getting away from him imho, and he clearly caught the opponent's faceguard. It should have been a red card - a yellow card at the VERY minimum, which might have set down a marker. But the limerick player got away with it. Poor reffing rather than any nasty intent by the limerick man imho.
And as I said earlier, with the form of both teams yesterday I don't think Cork would've beaten 13 never mind 14.
