Hit it straight at him sure. How do you know unless they are given a chance? The same was said about Brian Hayes last year. One fella even called him Bambi on ice.

There was 45,000 supporters there yesterday. Footage of messing surfaces really quickly so if that is the extent of it then the day went off well for all concerned. I was there with my youngfella so your senses are heightened somewhat, hurling aside it was a great trip, great colour and atmosphere beforehand, a river of both sets of supporters the entire width of the road heading down to the stadium together and nothing but a bit of banter and good spirits on show. We have an amazing tradition, lets not undo it by buying into a video or 2 of little or nothingI get the fact that all counties have bad apples in their support but there is a video online of limerick fans throwing stuff at cork supporters leaving the stadium. That's not on lads. I'd get over the jeering etc but this shit isn't acceptable and is pure scumbag behaviour like you see in soccer.
This team clearly isn’t as good as many think it is and the curve is trending down, they managed 2 wins from 4 in munster last year and are struggling to match that this year…..clearly there’s a comfort blanket for certain players in terms of selection and form, the competition in the squad seems to be negligible as we continuously select the same players, imagine lining out with the exact same defence vs limerick again as last year and expecting different outcome, fellas on giving out that O’Leary was on gillane, have ye seen what gillane did to sod every game ?Nobody is blaming any of those things.
I think most true supporters are just worried this team is not as good as we thought they were. Yesterday was very disappointing putting it mildly but the good thing is the team has the opportunity to prove everybody wrong in the coming weeks and all will be revealed.
I agree, i just don't want to see it going down the road of fans having to be segregated. There was 45,000 supporters there yesterday. Very well said. The only messing I saw was about 3/4 teenage Cork supporters thumping each other on the way back in the Ennis Road. They thought it was a huge laugh but it was harmless enough. Social media and WhatsApp now blow these things totally out of proportion. There was 45,000 supporters there yesterday. Yesterday was simply a masterful hurling display by the great Limerick team. That raw energy and intent that was missing last year was back yesterday. What a statement.Prob over reacted to a bit of jibing last week and said I wouldn't post but there's always the ignore button I guess even if some of his posts are decent .
Anyway few comments on the game, obviously delighted on how it went, the mindset and attitude of limerick players was bang on from the start ,I would say tactically we won every line on the pitch which is hard to do on any given day.
Cork thrive on fast delivery, long ball and breaking man onto ball creating overlaps and then score ,our 6 backs held their positions and more importantly when pulled out of position others covered . For cork this was a big problem and they didn't react on the line to rectify it.
MisMatch ups re players are always easy call after the game ,I'm sure in than regard pat ryan will have learnt some things if we meet again.
People saying limerick have shown their hand is rubbish. There's nothing new about straightforward outhurling your opponent and yesterday we did that in a lot of instances.
On the line I think our management have changed around a few things tactics wise from the 2 great games last year and attacking wise you can see greater emphasis on spacial awareness of players in better positions for scores.
Are we a 16 point better team than cork ,well yesterday we were but if we meet again the ball will be thrown in at the start of the game with all to play for.
It's our first year in a long while with all players available and that's a huge bonus .
The talk in the media of a cork limerick trilogy is hype and disrespectful to every other county, if both counties are good enough to see this happen then great but waterford ,tipp galway, kilkenny and the rest will have their say for sure.
There's plenty of hurling left in cork and yesterday's result doesent change that.
A winner take all next weekend at home v waterford should be well within this group of players if they go out with the right attitude .
We are absolutely nowhere near that scenario, what we have is magnificentI agree, i just don't want to see it going down the road of fans having to be segregated.
I remember a story of cork fans ambushing Dubs fans at kent stn in 83.Lucky enough to be going to matches 40 years and the only difference in supporter behaviour I see is mobile phones.
People have always gone into matches with drink on them and a small minority will misbehave. They're just fucking eejits. And they will always be with us. I can remember as a small fella hearing desperate shit going in both directions at Meath-Cork football matches. Anyone harking back to some sort of imagined past where we all doffed our caps to one another and nobody booed frees or used hurty words and gestures must have been at different games to me. I was too young for Dublin in the pairc in 83 but from what I've heard it wasn't exactly the ladies singles final at Wimbledon when it comes to supporter etiquette.
In the hurling I've heard racial and homophobic abuse hurled at Cork players in the 90s and 00s and shocking comments made by our fans at warriors like John Mullane. Even as recently as 2022 I heard a few dozen Limerick fans under the city end terrace singing I'd rather be a P*ki than a rebel. And I saw some fucking shaved ape of a young fella stood on the Ennis road waving a confederate flag yesterday like he was some sort of MAGA edgelord. Only looking for fucking attention.
There was on one of the big limerick hurling social media accounts this morning a video of a few Cork fans leaving early (fuck that for starters, why you'd ever give an opponent that satisfaction is beyond me) and the Limerick fans giving them a deserved enough razzing and a few of the Cork lads giving the finger in return. Big deal. My question would be as a limerick fan what the fuck would you be doing videoing that and putting it online when you could be watching your team do what they did yesterday. Fucking virgins.
