Yesterday was such a mess that I don't think I'd be singling out any 1 or 2 players for the chop ahead of next weekend. Realistically 12 or 13 lads were so bad that they'd all deserve to be dropped for the next game but that's completely unrealistic obviously.
Provided all are fit, I'd start the same team again the next day with a warning beforehand that anyone looking sluggish, low on energy/workrate etc will be getting hooked after 15 mins.
Mistakes I can tolerate as hurling is a game of mistakes but effort is non negotiable. I'd be saying anyone that's slow tracking back, puts in a half hearted tackle, slow getting up after bring knocked, slow at turning around, not making sprints for puckouts, you're coming off.
They showed a clip there on the Sunday game last night of Rob Downey and I think it was Ethan Twomey turning around and trotting after a sprinting Adam English. It was the perfect microcosm of the Cork performance.
