Cork Hurlers - Part 2

I get the fact that all counties have bad apples in their support but there is a video online of limerick fans throwing stuff at cork supporters leaving the stadium. That's not on lads. I'd get over the jeering etc but this shit isn't acceptable and is pure scumbag behaviour like you see in soccer.

Yesterday was such a mess that I don't think I'd be singling out any 1 or 2 players for the chop ahead of next weekend. Realistically 12 or 13 lads were so bad that they'd all deserve to be dropped for the next game but that's completely unrealistic obviously.

Provided all are fit, I'd start the same team again the next day with a warning beforehand that anyone looking sluggish, low on energy/workrate etc will be getting hooked after 15 mins.

Mistakes I can tolerate as hurling is a game of mistakes but effort is non negotiable. I'd be saying anyone that's slow tracking back, puts in a half hearted tackle, slow getting up after bring knocked, slow at turning around, not making sprints for puckouts, you're coming off.

They showed a clip there on the Sunday game last night of Rob Downey and I think it was Ethan Twomey turning around and trotting after a sprinting Adam English. It was the perfect microcosm of the Cork performance.
The problem for next week is that Waterford is a lower bar than what’s required to win against the stronger teams.. no disrespect to Waterford and it wouldn’t be a huge shocker if they beat us either

I'm not sure why we didn't start Deccy on Hayes yesterday. I know he didn't last long on the pitch but it seemed the obvious match up to me anyway beforehand given the history and way Hayes would match up with Fitz/Barrett. He's built to mark that type of speedster.

The game showed how Important Harnedy and Deccy on the pitch together are. Them lads combined with Hayes give is 3 good targets and a physical presence.

We've no direct replacements found for Harnedy and Deccy at HF. Both seem a little injury prone. That's worrying for me.

Hold on now we are blaming the following
1. Joe Canning
2. The Wind
3. The Hype
4. Undercooked
5.overcooked
6. It's all a mirage
7.We really wanted 3rd place

Lads please just STOP.
Nobody is blaming any of those things.

I think most true supporters are just worried this team is not as good as we thought they were. Yesterday was very disappointing putting it mildly but the good thing is the team has the opportunity to prove everybody wrong in the coming weeks and all will be revealed.

Yesterday's result stings. Jesus who wants to be beaten by 16 points. But the one thing I can't get my head around is the Declan Dalton situation

In this era of so much expertise how can you start a fella carrying a hamstring strain which could potentially rule him out of any upcoming games

I heard Saturday that he was under pressure
Sunday morning I was told he had said to lads himself earlier in the week he won't be playing Sunday. And he lasts 6 or 7 mins for what?

That whole situation is crazy in my opinion especially when you've 3 or 4 forwards who could have started instead
