Cork Hurlers - Part 2

I wouldn't agree with that. As much as the line were brilliant when we beat Limerick, they were found wanting in the final. Should have changed up the puckout strategy in the first half, when we were leading but the tide then started to change and we were being eaten alive when going long, time and time again. It really killed us.
I agree, we were a one trick pony

I think there is little doubt that if Limerick had beaten Cork in the semi then they would have completed the five in a row.
I said the night Cork beat Limerick in the pairc that Kiely would have been fuming, Cork were the team he feard most down the line and two minutes
of madness late on kept Cork alive,

I was surprised to see that puckout strategy last for as long as it did against Clare. It was obviously brilliant against Limerick but still, even the average couch supporter had worked it out that we were getting destroyed in the first half with that tactic. Yet we persisted with it.

I'll have to disagree here Jim. Proper champions don't fear anyone, even a weekend in the loft.

That was kinda my point really. We were set up to beat Limerick imo and we stuck with that. That style was good enough to beat the other teams besides Clare.

Clare have a style we struggle with as evident by the recent results. Particularly their smaller players who are very strong ball carriers. Our backs have struggled with them running at us from deep.

Clare were well prepared for it too whereas Limerick were caught on the hop by it. We need to be able to mix things up a bit more in match otherwise we won’t get over the line.

Dalton in particular needs to be used more when he drops deep. If his player doesn’t follow him it’s over the bar from 120 yards. If he does follow him there’s space in behind for Fitzy and Barrett

Only for those 2 awful handpass decisions by the referee, we've had won by 6-7 points.

Limerick gave Clare another 2 defeats this year. Therefore, will go down as one of the worst ever champions after losing to Limerick twice in the same year. Limerick will be kicking themselves because the final against Clare would have been another walkover against ye.
?

the evidence would support that.
I would give us a chance since we have been very consistent v limerick for 3 years but we couldn't get it done in 3 munster finals so the sensible prediction would be limerick

how were Limerick caught on the hop?
I think it was more a stubborn refusal to adapt.
It didnt work ve Clare because our defenders followed thir opponents while limerick try to stay in position and fill the spaces with structure.
Corks puck outs and 3 inside got them into the spaces between the structure and limericks lack of pace did the rest.

Clares starting 15 is marginally faster than corks despite the lack of conversation about it and the endless shiteing on about corks pace in the build up so when it was man for man and footraces cork had problems.

Cork are not slow, far from it but Clare have one of the fastest squads in the game and that was important in the final
