I'd also be of the opinion that Niall O'Leary was unlucky to miss out, I thought he was very good.

It’s pretty hard to argue the case for the Cork lads not nominated. Overall I think all those who deserved to be nominated were nominated. Of course there will always be some marginal calls but that’s just the nature of it.

Cathal Malone the only Clare player not nominated and I'd say that lad got through some amount of unnoticed work in every game, it was his donkey work around the middle that allowed others like Kelly to do damage.

While the All-Star team will no doubt have DF & TK if you were picking an actual team to play for me it would be Cathal Malone plus one of those two.

I have great time for Chris Crummy but no way was he more impactful than O Leary . The Antrim factor is wrong too . It’s patronising. It won’t improve with Deng Xiao Davy at the helm either . Is it a case that they pick the 15 then pick the nominees to take into account the geographic spread

Correct. It’s pure tokenism. As you say, no comparison between Crummy etc to O Leary, or Dalton, for that matter. In a reverse scenario you could argue that O’Mahony getting a nod as a football nominee is akin to Crummy et al.
