Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Revamp needed alright. You had the likes of Cill Na Martra and Beal Átha getting the same allocation of tickets as Sarsfields. Totally ridiculous. If you had a hurley back there the locals would look at you strange. No regard for hurling in lots of areas but they all get hurling final tickets. At least the likes of Russell Rovers Dungourney etc field football teams.

Incorrect. Allocation of tickets largely - but not exclusively - based on club hurling grading i.e. Snr, I’mediate, Jnr. Other factors like player(s) from the club on the panel also contributed to allocations. On the basis of grading only CnM got nowhere near the same number of tickets as Sars.

Hopefully we have the problem again next year!
Right now i'm of the mindset that i never want to step foot in Dublin ever again.

I am with a club in Derry and my name came out of the hat..... entirely suspiciously... but say no more.
Swapped a great seat in the Cusack for 2 on the Hill as I knew a fella from Cork living up here too was struggling for tickets.

I gave a lift down to two lads who got their tickets through being umpires. These two grumps were giving off about bandwaggoners the whole way down....I'm fine with bandwaggoners....I guess the bandwaggoners might be annoyed at folk from other counties getting tickets.

I met loads of lads from Antrim, Derry and beyond. I know they love the game..... but it aint the same as Cork and Clare supporters getting to be there.

84 tickets for Sars. 24 of this allocated for having Pat, JOC and Colm involved. Without them that means 60 tickets would have been allocated for a club of 900 members. A 1 in 15 chance of winning if it was open draw.

Over half this tickets were raffled between Adult Players and Committee, the rest to the remaining members.

BBAWs I say your maths slightly flawed there and I've said same to my friends in other clubs who made claims.
That number is what was given out by Sars maybe.
26 Stand and 16 Terrace was the original allocation for a Senior Affiliation that's 42.
You claim 24 is allocated due to Pat JOC and Colm.
For every player the club has on the panel they receive 20 per player. So that's 40.
Plus the discretion of County Board for management member.
Plus the extra allocation of Terrace tickets received by clubs on the Thursday/Friday.
I imagine Glanmire Football club might have made a deal with Sars too.
But 84 does not add up by all accounts.

Should have got 20 for Jack, was it only 4 extra for Pat and Cathal being on extended panel

No, based on number of clubs. It wouldn’t reduce Clare’s allocation at all, take it from the other 32 counties. The system as it is now is not fair to Cork.
how is it not fair to Cork.
Its 100% the same for everyone.
The lack of awareness of this line of thinking is extraordinary.

You come from a county that is in the fortunate position of having the resources to win titles in both codes and you want to remove tickets from across the country going to places that haven't a hope of ever being in even a semi final.

This isn’t about resources. It’s about giving Cork kids as good a chance of getting to a final as kids from Clare and Kilkenny.

Lads the fucking snobbery is unreal. It’s a thread to discuss the cork hurlers.

Some people for various reasons aren’t involved in gaa clubs. The “wait til the premier league” kicks off crap is tiresome tbh.

Being a soccer fan doesn’t lessen a person’s support of our county hurling team.
Oh Jesus the Wokeratti are in now. Like Come on goi's this is Hurling Country..
