Sooner the club championship starts she better. Lads have lost the run of themselves here over the last few days. You will see at least 22 of that match day panel on the panel for first round of championship next year. Outside of Cunningham, 2 x Roche’s, O Callaghan and maybe a fit Cathal Mac, we won’t be seeing too many new additions beyond the league. You can guess the 2-3 lads who will be challenged for their place from numbers 16-26 on Sunday. I would be thinking Lehane, JOC and Ethan. Let’s see if anyone can take it from them.

We need to get over the refs performance by now, it can’t become a smoke screen for our failings/mistakes on the day. Mistakes are part and parcel of it unfortunately with the pace of the game. The finest of margins and so close to a completely different narrative being written.

Had we have pulled it out of the bag lads would have been commending ROF for that shot he had on goal even though he missed, we would be saying he went for it cos the spirit of the team was never gonna be beaten bla bla bla.

Bottom line is we have a seat at the top table now. It’s the first time in a long long time that Corks name will be in the mix as AI contenders from the outset and rightly so. We are in a healthier position that we have been in 19 years. On the cusp of a breakthrough. And feels are writing an obituary for some players and management already.

Just read the piece and in fairness very well argued.
Jamesie is one of the most professional and balanced pundits out there so I would tend to agree with him on this (hence my 9 out of 10 rating for Johnny)

Why he would he not feature in the league if hes going to be part of the championship panel?

The same four or five posters singling him out whether he plays or not.

Conor Lehane deserves our respect and he has that.

Unfortunately for Lehane, his very poor performance against wford where he returned a 20% scoring rate ( 1 point from 5 shots) and contributed very little from play, subbed at 50 mins, should have subbed at half time, derailed his confidence.

We all want Lehane to be playing well with confidence. Tbf - We didnt get that this year even though P Ryan gave him every chance by playing him in most league games.

The question for P Ryan, should he persist with Lehane as a bench option or develop a younger player and unearth a new Brian Hayes etc.

Its not just Lehane, Ryan will review all bench options at decide accordingly, JOC and L Meade are 2 others under pressure IMO but only Ryan knows the true value these players bring.

Aslong as its done respectfully, I dont have an issue with it, Its a Cork hurling forum, of course squad selection will be discussed.

It goes without saying, the effort players put in to play for Cork, is incredible.

Grow up a small bit Barry.
The posts on here, a Cork hurling forum, are respectful. I think it’s arguable that they are far more posts on here giving unjust praise for players than unreasonable criticism.
It’s extraordinary that anyone would attempt to derail and silence Cork hurling supporters.
I disagree with many things said but it’s great that we have such a forum and so many passionate and honest contributors. We are lucky to have it. It shows the love we all have for our county and hurling.

A friend of mine was very critical of Pat Ryan and Cork Management

He said that we were outsmarted by Lohan - they nullified our tactics and best 2 players - we had no plan B - we were very slow to make changes and did not adapt to a non performing ref.

Maybe that's harsh but I do think that Lohan did his job better than Ryan.

Ryan made a big mistake last year by not changing marker on Kelly. This was a factor in our loss. But he was new and learning

He got most things right this season especially v Limerick and he helped some players develop and others recover their form, plus the players like him

But I do think he needs to learn from the mistakes last Sunday

Any opinions on this ?

And to think a fella would anonymously come online and still use his “friend” as a hatchet to undermine Pat Ryan, a man dedicating his life to this team. A family man who has been through so much already..
