Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Damo and Harnedy back into the squad
Am I right in saying it’s Conor Cahalane and Cormac o Brien that dropped out in the subs.
Yep, very strange not giving Conor a run last week in Tullamore when you look at who came on. Competition is fierce though which is fantastic

A bit short on defensive cover.
Agreed. I reckon they'll think they could drop Joyce back, so in effect they have three options. Personally I would have preferred to see E. Roche there, think he offers cover across the FB line, I don't think either Cahalane or Millerick would be that comfortable in the corner.

Six forward subs, not counting Meade. Imo O'Connor and Lehane are a little lucky to make it. I'd rather have S. Twomey there - his form hasn't been great but he is the best cover for Dalton and Harnedy. Hopefully Power gets a good but of time to make an impression - if he gets up to speed his ability to make the ball stick could be invaluable in a tighter or slower match. Robbie to get another short spin as well.

For all the talk on here of Cork's strength in depth and the battle for places, few enough of those forward subs would be anywhere near starting imo. A fit Robbie would change that of course, and hopefully next year Power and Ben Cunningham will come into the reckoning. But the starting six look pretty set for the rest of the season, barring injury.
